Richard has over 8 years works as an Environmental Consultant on a range of major marine based projects in Victoria. Such projects include environmental surveys for the POMC Channel Deepening Project and monitoring programs for the Victorian Desalinisation Plant.
Richard has a background in environmental consulting and research, with a Bachelor (Honours) Degree in Marine Environmental Science. He is currently a PhD candidate investigating the spatial ecology of marine fish in Victorian coastal waters working with Parks Victoria and Deakin University. He has extensive scientific diving and underwater survey experience and a strong background in classifying seafloor habitats using GIS software including scientific and technical publications.
In addition, Richard has gained significant experience in commercial diving industry over the past 2 years. He has worked on significant commercial construction projects within Port Phillip Bay and along the Victorian Coastline. His work includes survey and rehabilitation works at Webb Dock in Melbourne Port and installation of the wave energy BioWave Unit at Port Fairy. Richard’s commercial certifications include ADAS Part 2 SSBA Commercial Diver in accordance with AS/NZS2299.1, C6 crane and medium-rigid truck licenses.
