Following completion of honours after a Bachelor of Science, Kate worked as a Marine Ecologist in the Marine Ecology Consultancy field for five years. Before moving on, Kate was the 2nd in-charge of the company and was responsible for tendering and managing all works.
Kate has spent the last five years as the General Manager for a commercial diving company. Responsibilities included work estimates and tenders, direct client liaison, project implementation and safety system assessments relating to all operations. Kate has been managing projects within the marine environment for the past 9 years.
Kate is a Commercial Diver and a Commercial Diving Supervisor in accordance with AS/NZS2299.1. Kate has over 3,000 of commercially logged dives, most of which have been carried out in Victorian Waters. In addition, Kate has supervised over 1,000 dives.
Kates work has seen her play a key role in many of the major marine projects which have taken place throughout Victoria. These have included the PoMC Channel Deepening Project, Victorian Desalination Project, survey and rehabilitation works at Appleton Dock, Gellibrand Pier and Webb Dock. As well as many projects throughout the water industry including inspection and repair works at Cotter Dam to 48m depth and the Patterson Lakes Tidal Gates for Melbourne Water.
